Centre Lathe Turner required for a well-established specialist supplier of hydraulic and Electric Submersible Pumps. The successful candidate will be undertaking setting and operating manual lathes. It is envisioned that the successful candidate will come from a background in manual machining with a strong level of turning experience, have completed a mechanical apprenticeship and be based within a commutable distance of Sheffield.
Job Overview
- Set and operate manual lathes
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometres, verniers, callipers, etc.
- Monitor feed and speed of manufacturing machinery
- Measure and record build tolerances and determine parts that require repair
- Self-inspect your own work with hand tools
Job Requirements
- Previous experience in the setting and operating of manual lathes
- Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Either time served or City and Guilds qualified in mechanical engineering
- Familiarity with health and safety standards; any H&S qualifications would be a bonus
- Based within a commutable distance of Sheffield
- Full UK driving licence
Salary & Benefits
- £16.12 per hour
- Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 16:30, Friday 8:00 - 15:30, 39 hour week
- 33 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
