Design Manager / Technical Manager required with proven refrigeration design experience. We have exclusively partnered with a specialist refrigeration design and project management consultancy that are involved with the design and technical specification of retail, cold rooms and cold chain distribution centres projects throughout the UK.
The Design Manager / Technical Manager role focuses on CO2 refrigeration pack design for industrial cold rooms, supermarkets, and distribution centres. Responsibilities include overseeing the CAD and Revit design, component sizing, calculations, and preparing technical specifications for project tenders, site inspections, commissioning support, contractor performance reviews.
The role involves supporting the Project Management team with engineering expertise, fault diagnosis, and system monitoring, liaising with clients, suppliers, and contractors. Attending meetings virtually and in person across the UK, issuing technical updates, contributing to discussions on current and future projects.
Additionally, there will be a focus on leading distribution centre refrigeration projects, ensuring CDM compliance and integration with building design. Key tasks include consulting with clients, evaluating cooling options via life cycle cost analysis and researching energy / carbon-saving technologies.
Technical Manager Job Requirements
* Must have proven technical knowledge across retail refrigeration, Co2 system and industrial cold room, able to lead design and technical discussions.
* Previous use or knowledge of CAD / Revit
* Be able to design and provide technical specifications on large-scale projects
* Willing to travel across the UK with remote working
Technical Manager Salary & Benefits
* Basic Salary of £60,000 - £70,000 incorporating Car Allowance
* 23 days holiday plus bank holidays
* All business mileage paid at 45p per mile
* Full remote working available.
