Job Overview
- Working with tight-tolerance materials requiring patience, focus, and steady hands.
- Setting and operating small rolling and bonding mills to achieve highly accurate tolerances.
- Operating slitting (shearing) machines, ensuring precise and steady results.
- Calculating lengths and quantities of strips with the aid of both Excel and mental arithmetic.
- The company appreciates this is a niche industry, so full and comprehensive training will be given to the right candidate.
- Supporting other production activities, predominantly in rolled products but elsewhere in the factory if required.
Job Requirements
- Takes a calm and collected approach, driven by working with small fine detail.
- High mechanical understanding (will be tested in the interview).
- Looking for a long-term position (training lasts 6 - 12 months).
- Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ideally has experience with ERP systems like SAP. (Maths, Excel will be tested in the interview).
- Receptive to working overtime at short notice (after 16:30, or Saturday mornings).
- Comfortable with being trained on and using numerous machines on a daily basis.
