An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a growing firm of Chartered Accounts for a Client Accountant/ Portfolio Manager to join a practice based in West Wickham. Offering up to £55k, with auto enrolment pension, and great progression routes. The role would suit an ACA or ACCA Qualified Senior or finalist Accountant with solid experience managing their own portfolio of clients. The practice pride themselves on providing excellent service to individuals and OMB's in the Kent, Surrey and South London area. Portfolio Manager Position Overview
- Managing a portfolio of clients - production of final statutory (FRS 102(1A) and FRS105) and non-statutory accounts, preparation of corporate tax, partnership and self-assessment tax returns including business tax computations for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships, sole traders and individuals and preparation of quarterly VAT returns;
- Effective and proactive communication with clients with regular meetings and keeping up to date meeting notes on practice software;
- Daily recording of time, monthly review of client WIP. Client bills raised in timely manner.
- Client budget and time management;
- Onboarding new clients including meeting prospective clients and providing fee quotes;
- Dealing with accountancy and tax related queries raised by clients and staff; effectively communicating with them clearly on all matters;
- Assisting with new accounting regulations/tax projects as they arise;
- Technical research and ensuring clients are made aware of important legislative changes which affect them;
- Assist with practice IT systems to ensure efficiency;
- Organising and working effectively together and as part of team;
- Effectively assisting senior staff.
Portfolio Manager Position Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years practice experience;
- ACA or ACCA qualified;
- Good knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105;
- Proactive approach to work prioritisation and time management;
- Effective communicator, both verbal and written;
- Logical and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail;
- Experience using different accounting software such as FreeAgent, Xero, Quickbooks etc.;
- Good working knowledge of Excel and Word;
- Working knowledge of IRIS desirable, but not essential;
- Be able to arrive presentable and in the office on time and fit into the hard-working office culture.
