We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a prominent PVC manufacturing company based near Huddersfield. Reporting to the Engineering Maintenance Manager, you will play a crucial role in keeping the production facility operating at peak efficiency and performance.
Job Overview:
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to help maintain optimal production flow and meet customer delivery targets.
- Carry out reactive, preventative, and planned maintenance across a broad range of machinery and equipment to ensure high operational availability.
- Maintain and support site infrastructure and facilities.
- Take responsibility for installing new mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
- Proactively contribute to maintenance cost-saving strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Comply with all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, including adherence to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications.
Job Requirements:
- Solid hands-on experience and understanding of both electrical and mechanical maintenance practices and regulations.
- Possession of a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven background working as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with extrusion, mixing, and blending equipment is advantageous but not essential.
- Competence in Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices to enhance equipment reliability and product quality.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Welding experience (MIG and Stick) is preferred but not required.
- Ability to interpret and work from technical engineering drawings.
Salary circa £45k. Swing shift 6am - 2pm one week and 2pm - 10pm the following week.
