An excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a pharmaceutical equipment manufacturer based in Liverpool. The role involves full-cycle mechanical assembly and fitting of bespoke process equipment - including pressure vessels, rotating machinery, gearboxes, agitators, motors, and hydraulic systems. You will play a key part in build completion, testing, and supporting on-site installations both in the UK and overseas.
Job Overview
- Take ownership of all mechanical build documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assemble and fit mechanical components to tight tolerances, including limits, fits, and shaft clearances.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-skilled team, including Electrical and Control Engineers, to ensure timely completion of full equipment builds.
- Liaise with engineering teams to resolve issues relating to fit, function, or design.
- Inspect mechanical components, main fabrications, and pressure vessels at supplier premises.
- Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and in line with H&S requirements.
- Report non-conformances via established quality systems.
- Support the Production team with day-to-day activities and provide regular updates on contract progress.
- Assist with off-site installations at customer sites as required.
Requirements
- Time-served mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a similar mechanical fitting role.
- Experience with pressure vessel testing (desirable).
- Hands-on experience with agitators, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to read and understand assembly drawings.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: Β£35,000 - Β£45,000
