An excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a pharmaceutical equipment manufacturer based in Liverpool. The role involves full-cycle mechanical assembly and fitting of bespoke process equipment - including pressure vessels, rotating machinery, gearboxes, agitators, motors, and hydraulic systems. You will play a key part in build completion, testing, and supporting on-site installations both in the UK and overseas.

Job Overview

  • Take ownership of all mechanical build documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assemble and fit mechanical components to tight tolerances, including limits, fits, and shaft clearances.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-skilled team, including Electrical and Control Engineers, to ensure timely completion of full equipment builds.
  • Liaise with engineering teams to resolve issues relating to fit, function, or design.
  • Inspect mechanical components, main fabrications, and pressure vessels at supplier premises.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and in line with H&S requirements.
  • Report non-conformances via established quality systems.
  • Support the Production team with day-to-day activities and provide regular updates on contract progress.
  • Assist with off-site installations at customer sites as required.

Requirements

  • Time-served mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar mechanical fitting role.
  • Experience with pressure vessel testing (desirable).
  • Hands-on experience with agitators, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: Β£35,000 - Β£45,000
  • Off-site allowance: Included (details provided during candidate review).
  • Pension: 4% employer / 4% employee
