We are working confidentially with a well-established, independent chartered accountancy firm based in Leeds to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their Business Services team. Senior Accountant - Role Overview
- Prepare statutory accounts, management accounts, and VAT returns for a varied client portfolio.
- Act as a key client contact, building strong relationships and providing accounting support, including visiting client premises as required.
- Support and mentor junior team members, working closely with Managers and Partners to develop team capability.
- Utilise accounting software including ProAudit, IRIS, Xero, and Sage to deliver accurate and timely work.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and firm quality processes.
- Work with owner-managed and family business clients, providing practical, value-adding guidance on accounting and reporting matters.
Senior Accountant - Role Requirements
- Fully qualified ACA or ACCA preferred.
- At least 5 years' accounting experience, ideally within a practice environment.
- Experience working with UK owner-managed/family businesses, particularly FRS 102 reporting.
- Strong technical accounting ability and good commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in Excel and accounting software (ProAudit, IRIS, Xero, Sage).
- Full UK driving licence and use of a car, as the role involves visiting client sites.
