An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead a specialist Overhaul Department within a growing engineering business in Stroud. This hands-on role focuses on the overhaul and maintenance of variable pitch propellers used in a wide range of aircraft. It is ideally suited to someone who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end propeller overhaul process
- Disassemble and clean components for inspection
- Carry out visual and dimensional checks using tools such as micrometers, verniers, and height gauges
- Identify and replace worn or damaged parts
- Perform zinc-nickel plating on components when required
- Prepare and balance blades for painting
- Rebuild propellers to strict specifications
- Maintain accurate records for all overhaul activity
- Supervise junior team members and maintain a tidy workshop environment
Job Requirements:
