Bennett & Game are pleased to be representing a well-established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in Rochester who are seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer to take ownership of structural delivery across a varied project portfolio, working closely with in-house disciplines and external stakeholders to drive practical, buildable outcomes.
The successful candidate will support projects across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors, including new-build developments, structural refurbishments, extensions, change-of-use schemes and remedial works. You will be involved from early-stage concept and feasibility through to detailed design, construction support and final handover, producing clear calculations, drawings and reports that stand up to scrutiny on site and through approvals.
This role suits someone confident operating at chartered level, with the ability to lead designs, check and sign off deliverables and represent the business in a client-facing capacity.
Job Overview- Lead structural design delivery across multiple live projects from concept through to construction
- Structural analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber and foundations
- Produce and review structural calculations, technical reports and design documentation
- Support refurbishment and alteration works, including site inspections and surveys where required
- Provide construction-stage input, responding to RFIs and resolving technical issues promptly
- Coordinate with other internal disciplines to ensure integrated design and smooth project delivery
- Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors and local authorities to manage expectations and programme
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians, improving quality and consistency of outputs
- Maintain compliance with Eurocodes, UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards
- Chartered status (CEng), ideally MIStructE or structurally focused MICE
- Proven UK experience delivering building structures projects to completion
- Strong technical capability with the confidence to check and sign off designs and reports
- Experience across new build, refurbishment and structural alterations
- Familiarity with structural design and analysis software used in UK consultancy environments
- Strong communication skills, comfortable in a client-facing role
- Full UK driving licence preferred due to site visits
