Mechanical Design Engineer required for our client, a specialist air conditioning services provider, based in Berkshire. They require a Mechanical Design Engineer, with experience in the HVAC sector, more specifically, air conditioning, including ductwork.

Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer that will be tasked with carrying out CAD drawings/layouts, equipment sizing/selection and liaising with clients throughout the process. Our client works across a number of different sectors, with the bulk of their work being CAT B fitouts.

It is expected that the Mechanical Design Engineer will have a proven career history and background within the engineering sector and specifically mechanical engineering knowledge based on concept and detailed designs, specifications and the integration of mechanical services (specifically air conditioning and ventilation). Project values vary between around £50,000 to circa £1.5m.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Position Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a mechanical design engineer, specifically air conditioning.
  • Software package knowledge; Hevacomp / CAD etc.
  • Professionally qualifications such as a degree / HND in BSc / BEng(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering or similar advantageous, but not essential.
  • Member or Associate of Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or IMech, or working towards charter status preferred.
  • A clear understanding of the design, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical building services within the built environment (specifically HVAC installations).
  • Based within commutable distance to the office Thatcham.
Mechanical Design Engineer Position Remuneration
  • £55,000 - £75,000 depending on experience/qualifications.
  • Working hours - 8:30am - 5:30pm.
  • 20 days + bank holidays, annual leave, plus Christmas shutdown (3 or 4 days).
