This is a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Planning to join a company with current turnover of £50 million and with steady growth plans anticipated. Our client is genuinely proud of their product, and are widely considered one of the premium house builders from both a specification and build quality perspective in the Home Counties and southeast of England.

This is an exciting time for a Head of Planning to come on board who currently have 14 developments in progress ranging from high-spec apartments through to 5&6 bed houses of a high-end and high-spec nature.

Head of Planning Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Expectations: £70k to £85k DOE
  • Car Allowance £550 – £650 a month DOE
  • 23 days Holiday + Bank Holidays

Head of Planning Job Overview

  • The appointment and coordination of external planning consultants to oversee workloads on applications and appeals
  • Support the land buying team on appraisals on future land purchases
  • Undertake thorough site assessments.
  • Manage planning applications and planning condition discharges.
  • Prepare and manage the submission of planning applications.
  • Oversee s106 agreements and ensure planning condition compliance.
  • Support the Land & Planning team throughout the project management process, including amendments and discharge of conditions.
  • Reporting to Managing Director

Head of Planning Job Requirements

  • Previous experience working in the private or house builder sector in the field of planning policy / strategic land
  • Degree / Masters Planning Degree with an RTPI accreditation and a rounded knowledge of planning
  • Ability to adapt to change and to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
