A leading engineering firm near Guildford is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead and deliver high-value, multi-disciplinary engineering projects across process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation scopes. You will bring proven experience managing complex projects from order through design, installation, and commissioning, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and commercial control. Job Overview
- Provide strong leadership to project teams, establishing clear objectives and motivating high levels of delivery and accountability.
- Take full ownership of projects from initial design through procurement, site installation, commissioning, and final handover.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and supply chain partners on a global basis.
- Review and manage technical tenders, costings, and supplier approval processes.
- Maintain adherence to ISO9001 standards, health and safety legislation, and all relevant statutory obligations.
- Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational best practice.
- Serve as the main point of contact for customer support agreements and spare parts coordination.
Job Requirements
- Demonstrable experience leading substantial, technically complex engineering programmes - ideally in Industrial Gases and Pipework.
- Degree qualified in a Mechanical / Industrial / Process discipline.
- Highly effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Solid technical background within process, mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation engineering disciplines.
- Consistent history of completing projects safely, to schedule, and within agreed financial targets.
- Strong focus on quality standards, continuous improvement, and delivering excellent outcomes for customers.
- Either IOSH or NEBOSH qualified advantageous.
- Commutable distance to Guildford.
- Full UK Driving License & Passport and a willingness to travel.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary £55,000 - £60,000 dependent upon experience.
- Company bonus scheme.
- Working hours, Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm (40 hour working week).
- 33 days holiday including bank holidays.
- Pension.
