Buyer (Groceries) Required to join a leading UK wholesaler to support large-scale company growth. Our client has an annual turnover exceeding £66m and is looking to expand further in 2024 at their site in Rochdale. The company specializes in the Retail and FMCG sectors, working with some of the biggest industry-leading brands. They supply goods across the UK in various product categories, including Crisps and Snacks, Household Goods and Toiletries, Groceries, Pet Care, and Beer, Wines, and Spirits.
Position Overview
- Manage a large portfolio of purchases
- Achieve growth objectives and KPIs
- Under guidance from the Senior Buyer, define category strategy, range, pricing, and promotional strategies
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers
- Leverage your network to source the best deals
- Agree on JBP's and marketing strategies with manufacturers and suppliers
- Manage supplier and manufacturer payment terms proactively
- Oversee orders, delivery, and transportation to maximize profitability
Position Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role
- Previous experience in the Retail/Wholesale FMCG industry is highly advantageous
- Experience as a Grocery Buyer
Position Remuneration
- Salary DOE - £45K to £50K
- Company Bonus Scheme of up to an additional £10K
- Hybrid/Flexible Working
- Working hours: 08:30-17:00 Monday to Thursday; 08:30-16:00 on Fridays
- 25 Days Paid Holiday plus Bank Holidays
- Additional 1 day of leave per 12 months of service, up to 28 days
- Auto-enrollment Pension
