An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Structural Engineer with bridge design experience to join a well-established, partner-led multidisciplinary consultancy based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a varied portfolio of infrastructure and rail-related bridge projects, ranging from smaller technical schemes through to larger, complex structures. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team of circa 10 engineers locally, with access to wider in-house civil, geotechnical and transportation expertise nationwide. This role would suit a Chartered or near-Chartered Structural Engineer looking to make a real impact on high-profile projects while progressing their career in a supportive and flexible environment.
Position Overview
- Lead and deliver structural bridge designs across infrastructure and rail projects
- Undertake global structural modelling and analysis using MIDAS (or similar software)
- Design reinforced concrete and steel bridge elements including decks, girders, piers and abutments
- Produce calculations, drawings and technical reports in line with Eurocodes and UK standards
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, buildable solutions
- Support junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the team
- Liaise directly with clients and stakeholders as required
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE)
- Proven consultancy background in bridge design
- Strong experience with structural analysis software (MIDAS preferred)
- Solid understanding of Eurocodes and UK design standards
- Experience on infrastructure and/or rail projects advantageous
- Confident managing design packages and contributing at senior level

- Salary Β£50,000 - Β£55,000 (flexible for strong candidates)
