We are seeking an organised and customer-focused Hire Controller to join a busy equipment hire operation based in Glasgow. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth coordination of equipment hire activities, supporting both customers and internal teams to maintain an efficient, professional service.
The ideal candidate will have experience within the hire industry, such as plant, tool, powered access, lifting, or construction equipment, and a strong ability to manage bookings, handle enquiries, and work in a fast-paced environment. You will act as a central point of communication, ensuring equipment availability, processing hire orders, and building strong client relationships through excellent service.
Overview- Act as the primary point of contact for both customers and colleagues, handling phone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Work collaboratively with the national sales team to support wider business goals and contribute to commercial success.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships, consistently delivering an excellent customer experience.
- Oversee quality hire and sales activities, ensuring competitive contract rates and commercially sound decisions.
- Take accountability for the smooth and efficient operation of all hire desk processes.
- Ensure all administrative tasks and reporting responsibilities are completed accurately and kept fully up to date at all times.
