Bennett & Game are pleased to be representing a well-established structural and civil engineering consultancy in Cardiff who are seeking a Structural Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with 2-5 years of experience who is looking to build on core structural delivery while developing further expertise in temporary works and faade/cladding design.
Job Profile
The successful candidate will support the delivery of a varied project portfolio across residential, commercial and public sector developments. The role will suit someone confident producing design calculations and technical outputs, while working closely with senior engineers, architects, contractors and project stakeholders.
Job Overview
- Deliver structural design packages across new build and refurbishment projects
- Produce clear and accurate design calculations, technical notes and reports
- Support temporary works design including sequencing, stability and buildability considerations
- Contribute to faade/cladding-related structural design and interface coordination
- Liaise with clients, contractors and design team members throughout project stages
- Attend site visits and design meetings as required
- Ensure designs are completed in line with relevant UK standards and project requirements
- Assist with coordination of drawings and technical information with internal teams
Job Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 2-5 years' UK consultancy or contractor design office experience
- Strong grounding in structural engineering principles and practical project delivery
- Experience in temporary works design or faade/cladding design is highly desirable
- Good understanding of UK design standards and construction-stage risk considerations
- Competent using industry-standard analysis and design software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Salary & Benefits
