A forward-thinking engineering consultancy is currently recruiting for a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their ground and environmental team in Northamptonshire. This full-time, permanent position involves working on diverse ground investigation and environmental assessment projects across the UK, with a strong mix of both fieldwork and office-based responsibilities.

Position Overview
- Take an active role in planning and executing ground investigation works, including sampling and onsite data collection.
- Log and assess geological materials in accordance with current best practices.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors during field operations.
- Assist in compiling technical reports including contamination assessments, interpretive findings, and desk-based studies.
- Travel to project sites (predominantly within a two-hour radius), with occasional overnight stays when required.
- Support senior engineering staff on project documentation, safety procedures, and client communications.
Candidate Requirements
- Holds a relevant degree in Earth Sciences, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Has at least 2 years of relevant industry experience in geotechnical or environmental fieldwork and reporting.
- Familiar with soil and rock logging, environmental sampling, and lab scheduling.
- Excellent written communication skills, especially in preparing technical documents.
- Competent with standard office software; exposure to logging or GIS platforms is an advantage.
- Must have a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel as part of the role.
- Adaptable, practical, and capable of working in outdoor environments throughout the year.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary range: £30,000 - £36,000, depending on experience.
