Job Description
Estimator – Civil Engineering (Ref: CF44904)
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £65,000 – £70,000 + Car/Allowance + Benefits
Bennett & Game are partnering with a respected and long-established Civil Engineering contractor, renowned for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects since 1972. As a family-owned business with a £30m annual turnover and a 170-strong workforce, our client prides themselves on their collaborative culture, strong values, and commitment to excellence.
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to produce accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for civil engineering schemes valued up to £10m. This is a key role within the pre-construction team, supporting tendering activity, improving bid performance, and contributing to the strategic growth of the business.
The Role

Prepare detailed and commercially robust estimates in line with internal procedures.

Review tender opportunities and provide clear cost, resource, and productivity assessments.

Support regular workload and client feedback reviews to help improve tender success rates.

Produce high-quality tender submissions and management information for leadership review.

Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Ensure all work complies with health & safety, equality, and confidentiality standards.

Participate in personal development reviews and undertake additional duties as required.
Requirements
-
Background in site operations (Engineering or Site Management preferred).

Minimum 5 years of experience in Civils Estimating.

Proficient in Conquest estimating software.

Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6.

Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial/procurement processes.

HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).

Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills.

A strong team player with the ability to contribute positively to a collaborative environment.
