Engineering Project Manager required for a process engineering company and manufacturer of a wide range of products such as heat exchangers and pipework mostly into the food engineering industry based in the Elland area. This position is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of assigned projects by managing all aspects of project execution.

Key tasks include:

  • Engaging with customers to capture requirements.
  • Supporting project teams and collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Overseeing preparation and execution of all project phases and deliverables, including creating project briefs, timelines, budgets, and tracking progress.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues to guarantee complete customer satisfaction.
  • Supporting technical and sales teams in the quotation stage by preparing commercial and technical proposals, along with cost and price estimates.
  • Managing project risks, actions, issues, and decisions.
  • Tracking project progress across timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Presenting project financial data, including accurate budgeting, forecasts, cost analyses, and invoicing.
  • Balancing project resource needs by accurately reflecting demand within the business forecasting system.
  • Managing stakeholders, both internally and externally, including customers and suppliers; handling subcontractor management and generating Requests for Quotes (RFQs) when needed.
  • Controlling project scope and contract changes with customers.
  • Reporting, escalating, and addressing project issues, risks, or potential setbacks early and clearly.
  • Promoting best practices in project management throughout the company and suggesting areas for improvement.
  • Staying current on industry trends to spot potential opportunities or risks.
  • Complying with management system standards, including health, safety, environmental, and quality policies, ensuring all projects adhere to company guidelines.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Engineering background through hands-on experience or formal education.
  • Excellent communication skills to build key relationships.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Background within Process Engineering or Food Engineering would be ideal but not essential.
  • Formal project management certification.
  • Engineering qualifications.
