Our client, an award-winning Architectural Studio based in Edinburgh, is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join their growing team. The practice works across the Commercial, Residential and Leisure sectors, delivering a diverse portfolio of projects that include both new-build developments and the refurbishment of existing buildings. The studio is also involved in historic restoration and conservation projects, and any prior experience in this area would be highly advantageous.
With a significant increase in Residential-led projects, the ideal candidate will have proven experience within the Residential sector and a genuine interest in continuing to develop their expertise in this area. The team works primarily in Revit and AutoCAD, therefore professional experience and a good working knowledge of both software packages will be essential.

Position Overview:
- Work across both design and technical stages, producing high-quality drawings and detailed technical information
- Prepare planning, detailed design and construction drawing packages using AutoCAD and Revit
- Support the delivery of projects from early design through to construction and completion
- Develop coordinated technical solutions in line with project briefs, statutory requirements and best practice
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, schedules and specifications
- Coordinate with architects, consultants and internal teams to ensure accurate and compliant information
- Contribute to design development while maintaining a strong focus on buildability and detailing
- Ensure drawings and documentation comply with current Building Regulations and relevant standards
- Respond to technical queries during the construction phase and assist with design revisions as required
- Support the practice's quality standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of drawing output
- Work across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on Residential-led projects
Position Requirements:
- Proven experience working as an Architectural Technologist or within a design-led architectural practice
- Strong experience producing detailed drawings and technical packages using AutoCAD and Revit
- Background working across both design and technical stages of projects
- Previous experience within the Residential sector is highly desirable
- Good working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and industry standards
- Experience coordinating technical information with consultants and wider project teams
- Ability to interpret project briefs and translate design concepts into accurate technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical delivery
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet project deadlines
