Our client, a nationwide Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy, is looking for a Civil Engineer in their London office, which is in Zone 1. The location offers exceptional transport links, with Old Street, Barbican, and Farringdon stations within a 10-minute walk, providing direct access to various services.
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a role within a highly regarded, mid-sized consultancy delivering award-winning, sustainable, and technically complex projects across the South West and beyond. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working on landmark developments, including major urban regeneration and residential masterplans, as well as bespoke retail, commercial, education, and leisure projects.

Civil Engineer Job Overview
- Deliver civil infrastructure design for a variety of private and public developments
- Manage and support a project team (apprentices through to engineers), providing mentoring and design guidance
- Undertake and review detailed design of:
- Drainage and SuDS strategies and systems (surface & foul water)
- Road and pavement layouts, earthworks and site levels
- Highway works including s.278 and s.38 design
- Drainage agreements including s.104, s.185 and permitting
Civil Engineer Job Requirements
- Degree-qualified Civil Engineer with 4+ years' UK consultancy experience
- Strong background in drainage and infrastructure design
- Experienced in preparing Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements, and Service Reports
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, and ideally Civils 3D or other ground modelling tools
- Some experience in vehicle swept path analysis (AutoTrack or similar)
- Strong client-facing communication and project management skills
- Commercially aware, positive and solutions-driven
- Chartership (CEng/ICE) is desirable but not essential - full support is available to achieve this
- Able to lead and coach junior staff while managing your own technical delivery
