This position is for a Chartered or near-Chartered Structural Engineer to join their growing team in the Fareham office, playing a key role in the delivery of residential and commercial developments.
With a proven track record working on projects ranging from bespoke housing schemes through to complex multi-million-pound commercial builds, the company offers engineers the opportunity to gain exposure to varied, high-impact design work while benefiting from direct involvement with senior leadership on every project. Job OverviewLead the design and delivery of structural engineering solutions for residential and commercial projects, from initial feasibility through to detailed design and construction support. Work collaboratively with architects, contractors and clients to ensure buildable, cost-effective and sustainable designs that meet current technical standards and regulations. Undertake structural analysis, calculations and design across a range of materials, including steel, concrete, masonry and timber. Contribute technical expertise at all project stages, including inspections, surveys, reporting and providing input into multi-disciplinary schemes. Mentor junior engineers and support the continued development of the team, while working closely with directors who provide oversight on every project. Progress towards, or maintain, Chartered status with full support from the consultancy for ongoing professional development.
Job Requirements- Chartered or near-Chartered with the ICE or IStructE, with strong technical knowledge of current UK design codes and standards.
- Proven experience delivering structural engineering projects within residential and/or commercial sectors.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, with the ability to produce accurate calculations and drawings across a range of materials.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with clients, architects, contractors and wider project teams.
- Experience preparing technical reports, surveys and design documentation to a high professional standard.
- A proactive approach to problem solving with a focus on buildable, cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
- Full UK driving licence and the ability to attend client sites and meetings as required.
