An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Junior / Assistant Estimator to join a growing construction business specialising in fit-out and refurbishment projects across multiple sectors. This role offers hands-on training, long-term progression, and exposure to live commercial tenders within a supportive and experienced estimating team.
Job Overview
- Assist with preparing cost estimates and tender submissions
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Produce take-offs and schedules of quantities
- Support senior estimators with pricing, enquiries, and bid preparation
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
- Maintain accurate records and estimating documentation
- Assist with value engineering and cost comparisons
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes
Job Requirements
- Degree or HNC in a construction-related discipline (essential)
- Some experience or strong interest in estimating / commercial roles
- Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
- Well organised with strong attention to detail
- Eager to learn and progress within an estimating function
- Able to work effectively within a team environment
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 (DOE)
