Our client, a well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy with over 45 years of experience delivering expert structural, civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering services across a broad range of sectors. Due to continued success and growth, they are now seeking an ambitious and experienced Associate Civil Engineer to join their Derby office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated senior-level engineer to play a key leadership role in a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy.
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering consultancy, with proven experience in both technical delivery and project management, as well as a clear track record of supporting work-winning and leading teams.
Job Overview- Leading the delivery of civil engineering schemes across residential, commercial, mixed-use and infrastructure projects
- Managing both the technical output and financial performance of projects
- Overseeing a team of engineers and technicians, including resource planning, mentoring and line management
- Preparing drainage strategies, FRA reports, highway design packages and infrastructure specifications
- Collaborating with clients, architects, local authorities, and other consultants to drive project success
- Supporting directors with work-winning and business development initiatives
- Playing an active role in internal leadership meetings and strategic planning for the civil engineering team
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related field
- Chartered (or working towards Chartered) with ICE or equivalent
- Strong design experience in drainage (SuDS, foul and surface water), highways and external works
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroDrainage (or Causeway Flow), and Civil 3D
- Proven track record in managing technical and commercial aspects of projects
- Demonstrable experience in team leadership and mentoring junior staff
- Comfortable contributing to fee proposals, bids, and client presentations
- Salary: £60,000+ DOE
