Position: Purchaser Location: Warrington Salary: £36,000 per annum Purchaser required for a well-established manufacturing and engineering company based in Warrington. The successful candidate will manage purchasing across the business, sourcing materials and components including steel, aluminium, electrical components, OEM vehicle components and fabricated parts. This is a hands-on role covering supplier management, negotiation, stock control, cost reduction and process improvement. Purchaser Job Overview Managing purchasing activities across a busy manufacturing environment Sourcing steel, aluminium, electrical components, OEM vehicle components and fabricated parts Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships Negotiating pricing, contracts and commercial terms Managing and prioritising purchase requests and purchase orders Managing a small purchasing team and storeman Tracking orders and resolving delivery, shortage and quality issues Maintaining accurate supplier, pricing and bill of material data Coordinating stock takes and investigating discrepancies Identifying cost-saving and alternative sourcing opportunities Purchaser Job Requirements Proven purchasing, procurement or supply chain experience Ideally experienced within manufacturing, engineering or automotive Experience sourcing metals, raw materials and/or vehicle components Strong negotiation and commercial skills Understanding of stock control, lead times and bills of materials Confident using ERP/purchasing systems and Excel Experience managing a small team would be advantageous Knowledge of steel commodity pricing would be beneficial MCIPS or relevant procurement qualification desirable but not essential Based within a commutable distance of Warrington Purchaser Salary & Benefits £36,000 per annum DOE Monday to Thursday, 8:00am - 4:40pm, Friday, 8:00am - 3:40pm 28 days holiday inclusive of public holidays Pension Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.<...
