A well-established and growing building materials supplier based in Barking is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative / Driver to join its expanding team. This is a predominantly warehouse-based role, with the successful candidate also supporting deliveries to customer sites across London as required during busy periods.

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Forklift operating experience

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive salary of approximately £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • 25 days annual leave

Working Hours

  • Warehouse hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm or 7:00am - 5:00pm
  • Driver hours (when undertaking deliveries): Monday to Friday, 5:30am - 2:30pm

Due to the varied nature of the role, candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Barking and be flexible with working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load company vehicles safely and efficiently to prevent stock damage and optimise delivery routes.
  • Pick, check, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
  • Support warehouse production and operational activities as directed by management.
  • Help maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and site procedures.
  • Ensure correct manual handling practices are followed at all times.
  • Plan and prioritise workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Carry out deliveries to customer sites across London using company vans when required.

Candidate Requirements

  • Reside within a commutable distance of Barking.
  • Experience in a similar warehouse and/or delivery role.
  • Previous experience within a builders' merchant, construction materials supplier, or similar industry would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented approach.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
