Salary: £16.00-£21.00 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

Bennett and Game Recruitment are a well-established and highly specialised automotive engineering business based in West Sussex, with a strong reputation within the luxury vehicle sector.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Tool Maker to join their production engineering team. This is a hands-on position focused on manufacturing specialist components and assemblies using traditional toolroom and manual machining techniques.
Tool Maker - Position Overview
- Manufacture components and assemblies to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Use manual milling, turning, surface grinding and bench fitting techniques.
- Inspect components, approve first-offs and maintain quality throughout production runs.
- Work with the production team to prioritise manufacturing requirements and schedules.
- Support the workshop with modification of components and assemblies.
- Strip, assess and rebuild vehicle sub-assemblies where required.
- Operate additional production machinery following appropriate training.
- Carry out general workshop duties including material preparation, cutting, deburring and hand finishing.
- Complete relevant production and inspection records.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
Tool Maker - Position Requirements
- Time-served apprenticeship in Toolmaking, Machining or a similar engineering discipline.
- Strong experience within a traditional toolroom environment.
- Competent with manual milling, turning and surface grinding.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Proactive, practical and hands-on approach to problem solving.
- Minimum 2-3 years' relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience with gearboxes and differentials would be advantageous.
