Job Overview
Title: Site Inspectors / Clerk of Works
Location: London Gateway, Corringham, Essex
Rate: £300 - £350 per day (Outside IR35) (DOE)
Contract: Until 30th June 2027
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 54‑hour working week, 08:00‑18:00 Monday to Saturday. Additional evening, night and weekend work may be required with a rotating 12 days on / 2 days off night shift pattern where applicable.
Schedule: 1‑hour unpaid lunch. On‑site role based at DP World London Gateway, Corringham, Essex.
Responsibilities
- Inspect civil and marine construction works to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Monitor contractor workmanship, quality and adherence to health & safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate daily site records, inspection reports and photographic evidence.
- Review project documentation including RAMS, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and material submissions.
- Identify and report quality issues, non‑conformances and safety concerns.
- Liaise with the site team, contractors and client representatives to support successful project delivery.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with contractual and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Site Inspector, Clerk of Works, Site Engineer or similar within civil engineering, marine or heavy infrastructure projects.
- Engineering qualification (Degree, HNC or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of construction quality assurance and inspection processes.
- Good report writing and record‑keeping skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- CSCS White Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
