Stafford | £40,000-£45,000 + Overtime + Profit Share Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm Location: Stafford - ideally within 40 minutes of Stafford

A great opportunity for a hands‑on Field Service Engineer to join a growing specialist engineering business.

The role offers a varied mix of field and workshop engineering, working on pumps, water systems, diesel engines, generators and associated equipment.

Engineers from heavy plant, agricultural, generators, pumps or similar backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Overview

Approx. 40% field / 60% workshop.

  • Install, service, maintain and repair customer equipment.
  • Work on pumps, water systems, diesel engines and generators.
  • Attend customer sites across the UK for installation, commissioning and repairs.
  • Carry out fault-finding, modifications and preventative maintenance.
  • Complete workshop builds, repairs and equipment preparation.
  • Provide customer support and equipment training where required.
  • Complete service reports and relevant documentation.
  • Follow RAMS, health & safety and customer site requirements.
  • Participate in 24/7 call-outs.
  • Door-to-door travel paid when travelling directly to customer sites.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Field Service, Service, Plant or Maintenance Engineer.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills.
  • Experience with diesel engines and generators.
  • Water pumps and pipework experience advantageous.
  • Electrical fault-finding experience.
  • Experience with 12V/24V DC and/or 415V 3-phase electrics.
  • Relevant engineering qualification or strong practical experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong problem‑solving and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment and systems.
  • Transferable backgrounds considered: Heavy Plant, Agricultural Machinery, Generators, Pumps, Construction Equipment, Industrial Machinery, Hydraulics and Mobile Service Engineering.
  • Salary & Benefits

£40,000-£45,000, depending on experience.
