Senior Accountant required for an Accounts and tax team within a rapidly growing Accountancy Practice based in Rotherham. The successful Senior Accountant will be working on a variety of clients, providing advisory on tax matters, accounting, forecasting and a variety of other accounting services. The ideal Accounts Senior will have relevant experience within these areas of practice and have a solid understanding of reporting standards when it comes to financial statements
Managing a portfolio of varied clients, you will be mainly tasked with:
- Preparation of accounts and Corporation Tax Returns
- Preparation of Personal Tax Returns
- Preparation of management and partnership accounts for clients
- Answering client queries and client meetings
- Assisting junior members of the teams with their queries
- Preparation and review of complex company financial statements
- Review and submit quarterly VAT returns
- Attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners
- ACA, ACCA qualified with a strong background in practice (ideally 1+ years PQE, finalists will also be considered)
- Must be able to actively manage own workloads and take responsibility for own and team members development.
- Must possess IT skills to operate in-house programs and prepare and develop spreadsheets as necessary. Accounting software experience with Sage, Xero or QuickBooks will also be useful.
- Must be fully adept with accounts preparation programs, preferably IRIS
- Proven ability in managing a portfolio of mixed clients, and business development in an environment where the emphasis was on accounts, tax and advisory work is a must.
- Working hours: 37.5 hours per week but flexible working around core hours (10.30am – 4.00pm)
