  • Overview

An award‑winning residential developer based in Sale seeks a talented Part II Architectural Assistant to join a close‑knit architectural team of about ten professionals.

The role offers exposure to planning, heritage and bespoke design across a wide variety of residential projects, including listed building conversions, bespoke new‑build homes and heritage‑led regeneration projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing concept designs, feasibility studies and planning proposals across a range of residential developments.
  • Produce planning drawings including plans, elevations and sections for planning submissions.
  • Prepare supporting planning documentation such as Design & Access Statements, presentation material and visualisations.
  • Contribute to projects across RIBA Stages0‑4, supporting the progression from concept through to planning approval.
  • Coordinate with internal Technical, Commercial, Sales and Construction teams throughout the design process.
  • Undertake site surveys and regular site visits.
  • Attend meetings with local authorities, consultants and senior stakeholders.
  • Support public consultation events and assist in presenting proposed developments.
  • Maintain organised project documentation and drawing records.

Requirements

  • RIBA Part II qualification (Barch & March).
  • Good knowledge of either Auto CAD or Revit.
  • Strong design and presentation skills supported by a high‑quality portfolio.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
  • Previous experience working on residential projects is beneficial.
  • Experience with listed buildings or heritage projects is also advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own transport preferred due to site visits.
