Role Overview
Our client is a leading provider of bespoke power generation and standby power solutions across the UK. Due to winning a major new contract, they are looking to recruit a Project Manager with experience in the power generation or diesel generator (genset) industry. This is a primarily office-based role in Northampton with occasional site visits, where business mileage is paid.
Responsibilities
- Manage generator installation projects from order through to completion.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, production and installation teams.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.
- Monitor project costs and progress.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and commissioning engineers.
- Produce project documentation and reports.
- Support commissioning and final project handover.
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained.
- Occasional UK site visits when required.
Requirements
- Project Management experience within power generation or diesel generators.
- Good knowledge of generator installations and standby power systems.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience managing project budgets and timelines.
- Commercial awareness.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience with Caterpillar, Cummins, Perkins, FG Wilson, MTU, Kohler or similar generators is advantageous.
- PRINCE2, APM or similar qualification desirable.
Salary & Benefits
- £40,000 - £45,000 DOE (higher for the right candidate)
- 40‑hour working week
- Primarily office-based in Northampton
