Bennett & Game are working with a well-established regional contractor based in Portsmouth, delivering a diverse range of commercial, residential, refurbishment and fit-out projects across the South. With a forecast turnover of £14m this year and a strong pipeline of secured work, the business continues to grow and is now looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their expanding commercial team. Project values range from £15k to £7M.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking a long-term position within a growing contractor, taking ownership of projects from pre-construction through to final account while supporting the wider commercial function. The role is based out of their Portsmouth office, offering hybrid working and regular site visits across the region.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Overview
  • Managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects from inception to completion
  • Preparing and submitting valuations, variations, cost reports and final accounts
  • Managing subcontract procurement, negotiation and account administration
  • Producing accurate forecasts, budgets and cash flow reports
  • Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Working closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  • Supporting tender reviews, cost planning and value engineering exercises

Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
  • Experience delivering commercial, residential, refurbishment and/or fit-out projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong numerical, commercial and contractual awareness
  • Full UK driving licence
