Bennett & Game Recruitment are representing a leading advanced manufacturing business looking for an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their growing team base in North-West London. You will be responsible for programming, setting, and running advanced CNC machines to produce high-precision components for aerospace, defence, energy, and robotics customers. This is a hands-on role with full ownership of the machining process, from CAM programming and prove-out to cycle-time improvement and repeat production.
Key Responsibilities
- Program and optimise CNC toolpaths (3-axis, 5-axis and mill-turn where applicable)
- Set, prove-out and run jobs to high aerospace and defence standards
- Improve cycle times and machine efficiency
- Design and improve fixturing methods
- Select tooling, cutting data for materials including aluminium, steel, titanium and Inconel
- Maintain high quality standards and first-time-right production
- Support new part introduction from drawing to production
- Work with engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes and automation
Requirements
- Strong CAM programming experience (Fusion, Hypermill, Mastercam or similar)
- Experience machining to tight tolerances (±0.01mm and below)
- Background using high-end CNC machines such as Hermle, DMG Mori or Mazak
- Strong knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds and workholding
- Able to read complex engineering drawings and GD&T
- Aerospace, defence or precision engineering experience preferred
Desirable
- 5-axis machining experience
- Knowledge of probing, automation or pallet systems
- Understanding of AS9100 / ISO9001
