Cabinet Maker / Bench Joiner required
Our client is a specialist UK manufacturer with over 20 years' experience designing and producing bespoke products for the construction sector. Due to continued growth and the expansion of a new furniture range, they are looking to recruit a skilled Cabinet Maker / Bench Joiner to join their production team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual with a background in manufacturing or production joinery rather than traditional site carpentry. The successful candidate will be involved in the manufacture of high-quality furniture products from technical drawings through to final assembly, working closely with design and production teams.
Cabinet Maker / Bench Joiner Position Overview
- Manufacture bespoke and batch-produced wooden furniture to a high standard.
- Interpret technical drawings and production specifications.
- Work from CAD drawings and liaise with design teams where required.
- Operate a range of woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Assemble, fit and finish furniture products ensuring excellent quality standards.
- Assist with prototype development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Work closely with production colleagues to ensure projects are delivered on time.
- Support quality control processes and ensure products meet customer specifications.
Cabinet Maker / Bench Joiner Position Requirements
- Previous experience as a Cabinet Maker, Bench Joiner, Furniture Maker or similar.
- Background within a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and manufacturing drawings.
- Experience working with CAD drawings; knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of woodworking machinery and production processes.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive and proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence advantageous but not essential.
Cabinet Maker / Bench Joiner Position Remuneration
- £35,000 - £40,000 dependent upon experience.
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00
- Overtime available.
- 28 days holiday including bank holidays.
