A highly reputable Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Director of Structural Engineering to lead and grow their team based in Hemel Hempstead. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading major projects, developing client relationships, mentoring teams, and helping shape the future direction of the office. You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of high-quality residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments while having genuine influence over business growth, project delivery, and team development.
Responsibilities- Lead and deliver structural engineering projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors.
- Manage design, documentation, and project delivery to ensure compliance, quality, and deadlines are achieved.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring strong communication and client satisfaction.
- Provide technical leadership and input on complex design matters.
- Review and sign off the work of engineers and technicians, ensuring technical accuracy and quality.
- Build and maintain new and existing client relationships to support business growth.
- Mentor and support junior engineers through Chartership and technical development.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng MICE or MIStructE).
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in structural design and project delivery.
- Strong background working within a consultancy environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficient in software such as Tekla and Tedds, with familiarity in Revit/BIM processes.
- Strong understanding of Eurocodes, British Standards, and Building Regulations.
- Experience working with BIM methodologies.
- Competitive salary (negotiable depending on experience).
