Our client, a leading specialist within the sports construction sector, is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team based in Scotland. With over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality synthetic sports pitches, athletics tracks and associated civil engineering works, they are recognised as one of the UK's leading contractors in their field.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to develop their commercial career within a specialist contractor. You will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, supporting the delivery of projects for professional sports clubs, local authorities, schools and elite sporting facilities throughout Scotland. Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
  • Produce bills of quantities and pricing documents.
  • Analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure best value.
  • Assist with contract administration under NEC and JCT contracts.
  • Support the preparation of interim valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs and report cost variances.
  • Assist with change control and compensation events.
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
  • Support procurement of materials and specialist sports surfacing products.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
  • Assist with post-project reviews and commercial reporting.
  • Attend project sites across Scotland as required.

Position Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Scotland.

Desirable:

  • Construction placement year or internship experience.
  • Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
  • Interest in civil engineering, groundworks or sports construction.
  • Student membership of RICS or CIOB.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement frameworks.

Position Remuneration:

  • Salary: £25,000 - £29,000 (DOE)
