An established and growing freight forwarding business is looking for an experienced Transport Manager to build and manage its new transport division in Colchester . The company has recently acquired its Operator's Licence and brought its first vehicles in-house, with further growth planned. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants autonomy and the chance to build a transport operation from the ground up. Overview Take full ownership of a new transport division. Manage a small commercial vehicle fleet, initially around 5-6 vehicles . Manage drivers, including agency drivers. Oversee scheduling, vehicle utilisation and daily operations. Ensure full compliance with the Operator's Licence and transport legislation. Develop processes and procedures for the new division. Identify opportunities to bring more work in-house. Work closely with the existing freight forwarding and operations teams. Help grow the transport operation as the business expands. Requirements Previous experience as a Transport Manager . Valid Transport Manager CPC . Strong knowledge of transport compliance and legislation. Experience managing commercial vehicles and drivers. Confident working independently and taking ownership.
