An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to join a growing, family-run construction business due to continued expansion and a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming projects.

With an annual turnover of approximately £8 million, the company delivers a diverse range of projects across the general building and civil engineering sectors, with project values typically ranging from £50,000 to £3 million.

This role is suited to an experienced Estimator with a strong construction background who can confidently manage the estimating process from initial enquiry through to tender submission, working closely with suppliers, subcontractors and the wider project team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a variety of construction projects
  • Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to identify project requirements
  • Carry out detailed take-offs and quantify labour, plant and material requirements
  • Obtain, analyse and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering options
  • Prepare tender adjudication documents and commercial reports
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the tender process
  • Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where required
  • Support project handovers to operational teams following successful tender awards
  • Maintain accurate estimating records and cost databases
Job Requirements
  • Previous experience as an Estimator within the construction industry is essential
  • General building and/or civil engineering experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and procurement processes
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and commercial skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously
  • Full UK driving licence essential
  • Must be able to work from the office on a full-time basis
