Maintenance Engineer required. Our client is a well-established steel stockholder based in the Kentford, Suffolk area, seeking an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the team with strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic experience.

Maintenance Engineer Job Overview

  • Performing preventative maintenance routines and condition monitoring of production machinery and facilities as per the maintenance schedules.
  • Liaising closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and operations staff in all aspects to ensure efficient, effective and planned reactive maintenance at all times.
  • Making safety inspections of tools and equipment.
  • Diagnosing faults and repairing machines in a safe manner to minimise downtime and cost.
  • Anticipating machine failures and making such changes or recommendations to prevent re-occurrence and to minimise downtime.
  • Working to improve reliability and productivity of equipment.
  • Completing written records of all maintenance activities.
  • Carrying out maintenance tasks diligently and in good time using appropriate methodology.

Maintenance Engineer Job Requirements

  • Good mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge, along with PLC, inverter, instrumentation and control experience.
  • Knowledge of various mechanical drive arrangements.
  • UK driving license.
