A Senior Architect is required for an award-winning, employee-owned architectural practice with an established reputation for delivering large-scale residential, hotel, and student accommodation developments across the UK and Ireland for their office in Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing practice with ambitious expansion plans. The successful candidate will take a leading role in the delivery of major projects, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Job Overview

  • Lead the technical delivery of large-scale residential, hotel, and student accommodation projects.
  • Manage projects through key RIBA stages, with a strong focus on Stage 4 technical delivery.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Prepare and review detailed technical drawing packages using Revit.
  • Ensure projects comply with UK Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act, and relevant industry standards.
  • Attend client, design team, and site meetings throughout project delivery.
  • Support junior architects and technicians through mentoring and technical guidance.
  • Contribute to business development, technical innovation, and continuous improvement across the practice.

Job Requirements

  • Qualified Architect with several years' post-Part III experience.
  • Strong technical delivery experience, particularly across RIBA Stage 4.
  • Experience delivering large-scale residential, hotel, student accommodation, or mixed-use developments.
  • Proficiency in Revit is highly desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and technical detailing.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in improving processes and contributing to business growth.
  • Knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Principal Designer duties, sustainability, or emerging technologies would be advantageous.
