Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Chichester, West Sussex (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 + Car Allowance
Bennett & Game are representing a specialist main contractor based near Chichester who are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.
The company delivers technically complex construction projects across the UK and internationally, specialising in secure and defence-related environments for government, defence and critical infrastructure clients. Projects typically range from £250k to £8m, offering exposure to a varied portfolio of challenging schemes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of key projects, lead client and subcontractor negotiations and contribute to wider commercial strategy. Working closely with the Commercial Manager and project delivery teams, the successful candidate will have the autonomy to manage project commercial performance, support junior colleagues and influence successful delivery. The position also offers hybrid working, a strong pipeline of work and optional international project exposure.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Position Overview
- Take commercial responsibility for allocated projects and work packages from pre-contract through to final account
- Lead commercial management, cost control and financial reporting across complex construction projects
- Develop and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, monthly xgikmsk CVRs and final account projections
- Administer NEC contracts, managing Early Warning Notices, Compensation Events, variations and contractual risk
- Lead subcontract procurement, commercial negotiations and the management of supplier and subcontractor accounts
- Prepare and negotiate Applications for Payment, valuations, variations and final accounts with clients and subcontractors
- Monitor cash flow, margins, committed costs and commercial performance, identifying risks and opportunities
- Provide commercial advice and updates to the Commercial Manager, Project Managers and wider delivery teams
