Our client is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee fleet compliance, driver management, and transport operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance standards while supporting the wider transport function and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the nominated CPC holder and ensure full compliance with Operator Licence requirements and transport legislation
- Maintain FORS Silver accreditation standards and oversee driver compliance, tachographs, and training requirements
- Support the existing transport management team whilst providing senior oversight of fleet compliance and transport performance
- Oversee vehicle maintenance, servicing, inspections, MOT preparation, and defect reporting processes
- Liaise with workshops and suppliers to maximise fleet availability and operational efficiency
- Lead transport-related Health & Safety initiatives, investigations, and corrective actions
- Develop and monitor KPIs relating to compliance, fleet performance, safety, utilisation, and service delivery
- Produce reports for senior management and identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings
Requirements
- Valid Transport Manager CPC qualification
- Previous Transport Management experience within a fleet operation
- Strong understanding of Operator Licence compliance and DVSA regulations
- Experience maintaining FORS accreditation standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Experience within the waste, recycling, or construction sectors would be highly advantageous
Salary & Benefits
- £45,000 - £55,000 DOE
- Monday to Friday working hours of 06:00 - 16:00
- Occasional Saturday support may be required, although this is expected to be infrequent
- Fully onsite
