We are currently seeking an Architectural Technician to join a multi-disciplinary, award-winning Architectural Practice based in Guildford. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career development within an ambitious team.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will work within the Commercial and Retail sectors. Experience in these areas is advantageous but not essential. Key skills include a strong knowledge of the Planning Permission process and current Building Regulations. The role provides a pathway to progress into detailed design and project delivery roles, supporting all aspects of project design and delivery support, working alongside the team, clients, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to planning applications and regulatory procedures
- Collaborate with senior staff and project teams
- Work on bespoke high-end Office, Retail, and Commercial projects across all RIBA stages
- Produce detailed technical construction information
- Develop drawings, models, images, and related documents
- Report project progress to directors
- Prepare and present design proposals using AutoCAD/Revit and traditional methods
- Liaise with authorities for statutory approvals
- Maintain a good knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
- Demonstrate motivation and teamwork skills
- Be willing to travel to site locations
Candidate Requirements
- Living within a commutable distance of Guildford
- Proficiency in Revit & AutoCAD
- Motivated team player
- Experience in Commercial or Retail sectors (preferred)
- Knowledge of Building Regulations and Planning Permission Process
- Well-rounded experience in the Architectural & Construction Industry
- Minimum of 2 years\’ professional UK practice experience
