Our client is a provider of small tools and equipment to building sites across the UK based from their depot in Dartford. This role has arisen due to growth and expansion of their warehouse. This position comes with room to grow with the business. The ideal candidate comes with strong organisational skills with experience of repairing small tools in a similar position as an engineer.

Job Overview

  • Manage, motivate, and guide workshop staff to achieve performance targets.
  • Oversee and perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and tools.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring the availability of equipment and tools.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
  • Plan and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines and operational demands.
  • Implement and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations within the workshop.
  • Liaise with clients to understand and meet their service requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inventory, and performance metrics, and provide reports to senior management.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in workshop or operations management, preferably in the plant & tool or equipment supply industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for team and client interactions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical and logistical issues effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of workshop safety standards and practice.

Salary & Benefits

  • £40,000 - £45,000 Salary dependant on experience.
  • 45 hour working week.
  • 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holiday.
