We're working with a well-established logistics and warehousing operation seeking a hands-on Fleet Compliance Manager to take ownership of fleet, safety and compliance across a fast-paced environment.
You will act as the named Transport Manager, ensuring full compliance with Operator Licence undertakings and DVSA requirements, while overseeing fleet compliance and supporting Health & Safety across transport and warehouse operations.
Job Overview
- Fleet & Transport Compliance
- Act as named Transport Manager, ensuring full DVSA and Operator Licence compliance
- Oversee fleet maintenance, roadworthiness, PMI schedules and defect management
- Monitor OCRS, MOT performance and driver/tachograph compliance
- Manage fleet systems (e.g. TruTac, Microlise) and control fleet costs
- Respond to out-of-hours fleet issues when required
- Maintain H&S systems across transport and warehouse operations
- Ensure compliance with key legislation (HASAWA, RIDDOR, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH)
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
- Maintain RAMS, SOPs and safe systems of work
- Support audits and accreditations (e.g. FORS)
- Support fleet planning, procurement and supplier management
- Oversee insurance claims and operational risk
- Improve efficiency, cost control and compliance standards
- Maintain compliance systems and reporting accuracy
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in fleet compliance or transport compliance
- Transport Manager CPC (Road Haulage)
- Experience within a logistics, transport, warehouse or depot environment
- Strong understanding of Operator Licence compliance and DVSA requirements
- Working knowledge of UK H&S legislation (HASAWA, RIDDOR, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH)
- Experience managing audits, compliance systems and fleet performance
- Experience in a management or supervisory role
- Strong IT skills and experience with compliance systems
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £42,000 - £46,500 (DOE)
- Working hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) with flexibility required for early starts, late finishes and occasional out-of-hours support
- Death in Service cover (3x annual salary)
