Our client is a specialist freight forwarding business providing UK and international logistics solutions. They are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join their operations team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, with the potential for the role to become permanent.
Job Overview
- Manage freight forwarding operations across import and export shipments
- Coordinate EU and sea freight movements from booking through to delivery
- Complete and process customs entries using CDS/CNS
- Liaise with customers, carriers, and overseas agents to ensure smooth shipment progression
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation
- Monitor shipments and provide customers with regular updates
- Work closely with the wider operations team to resolve any transport or customs issues
- Maintain accurate operational records using internal systems and spreadsheets
Requirements
- Previous experience within freight forwarding is essential
- Good knowledge of EU and sea freight operations
- Import and export customs experience, including CDS/CNS entries
- Knowledge of packed and tanker movements would be advantageous
- Experience using Multifreight or Mintsoft would be beneficial
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations with a proactive, hands-on approach
