An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join a well-established, family-owned manufacturer specialising in brass and aluminium castings. Operating across four specialist divisions, the business offers a complete manufacturing solution, including foundry operations, CNC machining, laser cutting, polishing and plating, supplying high-quality cast components to customers across a variety of industries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while managing and growing existing customer relationships throughout the UK and Europe. This is a consultative technical sales role, requiring previous experience within the castings industry and the ability to understand customer requirements before delivering tailored manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities across the UK and European markets.
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing customers and key accounts.
  • Identify customer requirements and provide technical solutions for cast components and manufacturing services.
  • Prepare quotations and commercial proposals.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits and technical presentations.
  • Liaise closely with design, estimating and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities.
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events where required.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and customer records.

What We Need From You

Essential

  • Previous technical sales experience within the castings industry.
  • Strong understanding of brass and/or aluminium castings and associated manufacturing processes.
  • Proven track record of winning new business and developing customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach to business development.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Europe.

Desirable

  • Experience selling foundry, machining or precision engineering services.
  • Existing customer network within manufacturing, engineering or OEM markets.
  • Engineering or technical qualification.
  • Experience working with CRM systems.
