Job Title: Project Quantity Surveyor Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 (DOE) Location: Sutton, London (Office-Based with Site Travel Across London & the South East) - Office relocating to Purley in the near future Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join a long-established specialist contractor delivering prestigious high-end interior and decorative plasterwork projects across Central London. The successful candidate will take commercial ownership of projects from contract award through to final account, working independently and closely with clients, site teams, subcontractors and internal departments to ensure strong commercial and operational performance. Projects vary significantly in size, with values ranging from approximately £2 million to £200 million, providing exposure to complex and high-profile schemes across the sector. Approximately 95% of projects are based in Central London, with the remaining 5% across surrounding regions and occasional overseas works. Project Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities Take full commercial responsibility for projects from contract award through to final account Prepare and submit monthly valuations and applications for payment Monitor project costs, variations, cash flow and overall financial performance Manage subcontractor accounts, payments, variations and final accounts Review drawings, specifications and programmes to identify commercial opportunities and risks Prepare and maintain accurate commercial reports and forecasts Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams Support procurement and manage commercial aspects of material and subcontractor packages Attend site and client meetings as required Ensure contractual and commercial requirements are managed throughout the project lifecycle Work independently while maintaining strong communication with senior management and project teams Project Quantity Surveyor - Job Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry Strong commercial experience managing projects independently Experience managing projects from contract award through to final account Strong understanding of valuations, variations, subcontractor accounts and cost reporting Excellent Microsoft Excel skills are essential, including formulas, calculations and spreadsheet management Confident working with financial data and producing accurate commercial reports Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and construction programmes Strong communication and negotiation skills Highly organised with the ability to manage workload independently Construction-related qualification advantageous Project Quantity Surveyor - Salary & Benefits Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum (DOE) 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays Employer pension contribution Life insurance Retail discount scheme Full training and ongoing professional development Long-term career progression opportunities Opportunity to work on prestigious specialist projects across London and beyond Supportive and collaborative working environment Bennett & Game Recruitment are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
