Building Surveyor in Sutton Coldfield

An established and highly respected independent surveying practice is looking to appoint an experienced Building Surveyor to join its growing team in the West Midlands. You will join an established team of surveyors, working across a varied portfolio of residential and commercial properties. Building Surveyor Salary & Benefits: £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience Hybrid working 25 days annual leave plus statutory holidays Company pension Ongoing training and professional development Building Surveyor Job Overview: As a Building Surveyor, you will undertake a varied portfolio of RICS Building Surveys and condition surveys across the West Midlands. You will be responsible for inspecting properties, identifying defects and producing clear, detailed reports that can be easily understood by clients. This is a client-facing role where you will manage your own workload and diary while working alongside an experienced team of surveyors. The role will include: Carrying out RICS Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Building Surveys Undertaking residential and commercial building inspections Preparing detailed Building Survey and condition reports Inspecting buildings and identifying defects and areas of concern Providing clear, practical recommendations to clients Producing reports in accordance with relevant RICS standards and templates Undertaking condition surveys for property owners and housing associations Liaising directly with clients before and after inspections Managing your own diary, workload and reporting deadlines Supporting colleagues and senior surveyors during periods of increased workload Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and completing regular CPD Building and maintaining strong client relationships Building Surveyor Job Requirements: MRICS or AssocRICS is essential Proven experience within Building Surveying Experience carrying out RICS Level 1, 2 and/or 3 surveys Strong technical surveying and report-writing skills Good understanding of building defects, construction methods and property condition Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong client-facing and relationship-building abilities Ability to manage your own workload and diary effectively West Midlands based with the ability to travel to properties across the region Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Professional, technically strong and client-focused approach Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
